The Sd.Kfz.250 leichter Schützenpanzerwagen was the German Army's light half-track personnel carrier, built to keep pace with Panzer divisions and deliver a small infantry squad or reconnaissance team directly into the fight. The "Neu" (new) hull, introduced in 1943, simplified the original vehicle's complex multi-plate armoured body into fewer, larger angled panels to speed up wartime production, and the 250/1 variant served as the standard troop-carrying version fitted with machine gun armament.
