About this kit
The Sd.Kfz.250/8 was a fire-support variant of the German Wehrmacht's light armoured half-track series, fitted with the short-barrelled 7.5cm K.51 L/24 gun originally carried by early Panzer IV tanks. Issued to the heavy weapons platoons of Panzergrenadier units, it gave fast-moving mechanised infantry columns their own mobile artillery support, capable of engaging both fortified positions and enemy armour with high-explosive and early shaped-charge ammunition.
Dragon's Premium Edition treatment of this half-track goes well beyond a standard injection kit, adding etched-brass mesh, delicate turned or slide-moulded fittings, and a highly detailed fighting compartment that recreates the ammunition stowage, radio gear, and gun mount in fine relief. Slide-mould technology reproduces the vehicle's compound-curved armoured hull sides in as few parts as possible while keeping panel lines and weld seams crisp.
The box includes a full photo-etch fret, a comprehensive decal sheet for multiple vehicles, and clear parts for the vision blocks, giving builders everything needed for a contest-standard finish.
Aimed at experienced modellers who want a showcase piece rather than a quick build, this Premium Edition Sd.Kfz.250/8 rewards patient assembly with an exceptionally detailed and accurate replica of a distinctive Wehrmacht support vehicle.
