About this kit
German Fallschirmjager (paratroopers) fielded a shortened version of the standard 8cm mortar, the kurzer 8cm Granatwerfer 42, a lightweight variant designed to be broken down and dropped or carried by airborne troops who could not deploy the full-size weapon. This Gen2 set depicts the mortar crew serving the weapon in the field.
As part of Dragon's Gen2 figure generation, the set benefits from improved body proportions and more natural action poses compared to earlier figure ranges, with crew shown loading, aiming and spotting for the mortar. The distinctive Fallschirmjager smock and jump helmet are both crisply rendered.
Separate mortar components, ammunition and personal equipment give modellers flexibility in how the finished scene is arranged.
A specialised set for anyone building a Fallschirmjager support-weapons diorama, whether Crete, Italy or Normandy themed.
