About this kit
The 15cm sIG 33 (Sf) auf Panzerfahrgestell was Germany's solution to giving its heavy infantry gun battalions cross-country mobility, mounting the powerful 15cm schweres Infanteriegeschutz 33 in a tall, open-topped armoured superstructure on a modified tank chassis. These self-propelled guns provided direct fire support against bunkers, buildings and troop concentrations for advancing Panzer and infantry formations in the early and mid-war years.
Dragon's 1/35 kit captures the ungainly but purposeful silhouette of this conversion, with a detailed superstructure interior showing the massive gun breech, recoil mechanism and stowage for the large-calibre ammunition the crew had to handle by hand. Slide-moulded parts render the vehicle's armour plating and the distinctive box-like fighting compartment with sharp, accurate edges.
The kit includes a decal sheet for period-correct German unit markings and a full instruction manual guiding assembly of this multi-part conversion vehicle.
A distinctive addition to any early-war German self-propelled artillery collection, this kit rewards modellers looking to build something beyond the standard tank line-up.
