Dragon 1/35 Military - British Sherman Firefly Ic - D6228

The Sherman Firefly was the British Army's answer to the firepower gap exposed by German Panthers and Tigers in Normandy: a standard American M4 Sherman re-armed with the potent 17-pounder anti-tank gun, instantly recognisable by its long counterweighted barrel and turret bustle modifications needed to fit the larger breech. The "Ic" designation marks this as a Firefly conversion of the welded-hull Sherman I, one of the most numerous Firefly variants fielded by British and Commonwealth armoured regiments from June 1944.
Dragon's 1/35 kit reproduces the Firefly's key recognition features in fine detail, including the slide-moulded one-piece 17-pounder barrel with its distinctive muzzle counterweight, the modified commander's cupola, extra turret stowage bin and British-pattern hull stowage. Track and running gear are rendered with Dragon's usual precision, and the hull and turret castings carry the correct weld seams and casting texture of the source Sherman.
The kit includes a decal sheet with authentic British and Commonwealth unit markings from the Normandy campaign, along with a full instruction manual for assembly.
An essential build for anyone assembling a Normandy 1944 Allied armour collection, this Firefly slots neatly alongside Dragon's other Sherman and German armour releases for accurate tank-versus-tank dioramas.
