Dragon 1/35 Military - Sd.Kfz.251/9 Ausf.C Mit 7.5Cm Kanone 37 6225 (PRE-ORDER)
Pre-order
The Sd.Kfz.251/9 Ausf.C, nicknamed "Stummel" ("stump") by German troops, was a variant of the ubiquitous Sd.Kfz.251 armoured half-track fitted with a short-barrelled 7.5cm KwK37 L/24 gun in an open-topped mount. Issued to the heavy weapons companies of Panzergrenadier battalions, it gave mechanised infantry their own mobile close-support and anti-fortification firepower, able to keep pace with the half-tracks and armour it supported.
Dragon's 1/35 rendition of the Ausf.C chassis is built around a highly engineered one-piece lower hull produced using Dragon's slide-mould technology, eliminating unsightly seams on the distinctive sloped hull sides. The kit features a fully detailed driver's compartment, accurately reproduced front leaf-spring suspension, and a turned-aluminium gun barrel for the stubby KwK37, replicating the fine proportions of the real weapon far better than a plastic moulding could.
Metal indicator poles, photo-etched detail parts and a full decal sheet for authentic vehicle markings round out the package, giving painters and detail modellers plenty to work with both inside and out.
Recommended for modellers with some prior armour-building experience who want a distinctive, lesser-modelled half-track variant to complement a Kursk or Normandy-era Panzergrenadier diorama.
