Dragon 1/35 Military - Sherman Firefly Vc - D6182

The Sherman Firefly was Britain's answer to the growing threat of heavy German armour in Normandy: a standard M4 Sherman hull re-armed with the powerful 17-pounder anti-tank gun, giving Commonwealth tank units a weapon finally capable of knocking out Tigers and Panthers at combat ranges. The "Vc" designation identifies this variant as built on the Sherman V (US M4A4) hull, the most common Firefly conversion base.

Dragon's 1/35 kit reproduces the distinctive long 17-pounder barrel and counterweight, the modified turret with its rear stowage bin (fitted to accommodate the larger breech and radio equipment displaced from the hull), and the running gear and hull details of the M4A4 chassis, including its distinctive lengthened suspension bogies.

The kit uses Dragon's slide-mould technology to render fine surface detail and hatch fittings, and includes markings options for building an accurately finished Firefly as fielded by British or Commonwealth armoured regiments in North West Europe.
