About this kit
This figure set represents Cossack cavalrymen who served as auxiliary troops alongside German forces on the Eastern Front, drawn from Cossack communities of the Don, Kuban and Terek regions who were recruited into Wehrmacht-affiliated Cossack squadrons and later the Cossack Cavalry Corps. Mounted troops remained a significant part of operations in the vast, often roadless terrain of the Eastern Front throughout the war.
Dragon has modelled both riders and horses with close attention to anatomy and movement, a technically demanding subject for any figure manufacturer, with traditional Cossack items such as the papakha fur hat, cavalry sabre and carbine sculpted in fine detail alongside period-correct tack and saddlery.
The set is moulded in styrene and includes multiple mounted figures posed for a natural group arrangement, giving builders the parts needed to assemble a distinctive cavalry vignette rarely covered by other manufacturers.
A striking and unusual subject for collectors and diorama builders looking to depict the lesser-known cavalry side of the Eastern Front war.
