The Messerschmitt Bf 109E-4, nicknamed the "Emil", was the definitive Battle of Britain era version of Germany's iconic fighter, introduced in mid-1940 with wing-mounted 20mm MG FF cannon that gave it a significant firepower edge over earlier marks. Powered by the fuel-injected Daimler-Benz DB 601N engine, the E-4 was the mount of many of the Luftwaffe's leading aces during the summer of 1940 and remains one of the most recognisable fighters of the war.

Dragon's 1/48 kit renders the 109's distinctive narrow-track undercarriage, elliptical wing cannon bulges and framed canopy with fine, accurately scaled surface detail, using slide-moulded parts to keep the cowling and wing root fairings clean and seam-free. A detailed cockpit tub with instrument panel and control column is included, visible through the kit's clear canopy parts.

The kit comes with a decal sheet offering authentic Luftwaffe markings and a full instruction manual for assembly and painting.

A must-have subject for any Battle of Britain collection and a satisfying build for fans of early-war Luftwaffe fighters.
