About this kit
The Focke-Wulf Ta 154 "Moskito" was Germany's answer to the de Havilland Mosquito, a twin-engine, largely wooden-construction night fighter intended to intercept RAF bomber streams. Delays caused by faulty glue formulations, Allied bombing of production facilities, and shortages of skilled labour meant only a handful of the roughly 50 built ever saw operational service before the programme was cancelled in 1944.
Dragon's 1/48 kit is engineered as a "3 in 1" release, providing the parts options needed to build different production/prototype variants of the Ta 154 from a single box, a reflection of the type's troubled and rapidly evolving development history. Slide-moulded components render the aircraft's slender fuselage and engine nacelles with fine, accurate detail, while the cockpit includes representation of the night-fighting radar-operator's station.
Decals and instructions are included to finish the model in authentic Luftwaffe night-fighter camouflage and markings.
A rewarding build for modellers interested in Germany's rare and unusual wartime night fighters and the wooden-airframe engineering solutions born of late-war material shortages.
