About this kit
The Heinkel He 219 Uhu ('Owl') was arguably the most capable purpose-built night fighter fielded by the Luftwaffe in the Second World War, the first operational aircraft equipped with ejection seats as standard and fast enough to intercept RAF Mosquito bombers. On its combat debut in June 1943, ace night fighter pilot Major Werner Streib shot down five RAF bombers in a single sortie flying a pre-production He 219, an achievement that cemented the type's fearsome reputation despite it never being produced in the numbers its performance deserved.
This Dragon 2-in-1 boxing lets modellers build either the early A-0 pre-production standard or the definitive A-7 variant, Heinkel's most heavily armed and refined Uhu, from a single set of sprues - a hallmark of Dragon's engineering that maximises variant options without compromising accuracy for either version.
The kit reproduces the He 219's distinctive tricycle undercarriage, twin Lichtenstein SN-2 radar antenna arrays on the nose, and heavy cannon armament with finely moulded surface detail, plus a detailed cockpit for the two-man crew and decals covering night fighter unit markings.
A rewarding, detail-dense build for night fighter enthusiasts and Luftwaffe specialists who want a genuine variant choice in one box.
