About this kit
The de Havilland Vampire was Britain's second operational jet fighter, distinguished by its twin-boom tail and pod-shaped fuselage housing a single Goblin turbojet. This release depicts a Vampire fighter-bomber in Swiss Air Force service - the 'Ch' in the kit's original title stands for Confoederatio Helvetica - reflecting Switzerland's status as one of the type's most enthusiastic export customers, where locally-built and imported Vampires and Venoms served as the backbone of the Fliegertruppe well into the 1970s.
Dragon's 1/72 tooling captures the Vampire's unmistakable wooden-and-metal composite airframe shape, twin tail booms and bubble canopy with fine engraved panel lines, while the fighter-bomber loadout is represented with underwing stores options reflecting the type's ground-attack role alongside its interceptor duties.
The kit includes a decal sheet for authentic Swiss roundels and unit markings, letting modellers build a Vampire wearing the red-and-white identity that made Switzerland's jets instantly recognisable on the airshow and display circuit.
An ideal subject for collectors looking beyond the RAF for early jet-age history, and a colourful, compact addition to any 1/72 postwar jet collection.
