About this kit
The FV214 Conqueror was Britain's answer to the threat posed by heavily armoured Soviet tanks such as the IS-3 in the opening years of the Cold War. Entering service in 1955 and armed with a powerful 120mm L1 rifled gun, the Conqueror was designed purely to out-range and out-gun enemy armour at long distance, serving with British Army units in West Germany until it was superseded by the Chieftain in the early 1960s.
Dragon's 1/35 kit tackles this rarely-modelled subject with a full-length, multi-piece hull and the Conqueror's distinctively bulky turret, faithfully capturing the tank's enormous 63-tonne bulk, closely spaced road wheel run and the long 120mm barrel using Dragon's slide-mould technology for crisp, seam-free castings.
The kit provides individual track link parts for an accurate sag and run, detailed engine deck and stowage fittings, and decals for authentic British Army markings of the period, giving builders everything needed for a display-quality Cold War heavy tank.
As one of the few injection kits ever produced of this short-lived but fascinating design, this Conqueror is a must for collectors of post-war British armour and a genuine conversation piece alongside more common Cold War subjects.
