About this kit
In early 1968, the US Marine Corps combat base at Khe Sanh in South Vietnam's northern highlands endured a 77-day siege by North Vietnamese Army regulars, becoming one of the most fiercely contested and heavily publicised battles of the Vietnam War. Marines held the perimeter under constant artillery bombardment, relying on resupply airdrops and close air support to hold the line.
Dragon's 1/35 figure set depicts USMC riflemen from this battle, sculpted in typical 1968-era jungle utilities, flak jackets and M1 helmets with camouflage covers, armed with M16 rifles and period web gear. The figures feature dynamic combat poses and crisp uniform and equipment detail typical of Dragon's figure ranges.
Separately moulded weapons, packs and helmets allow modellers to vary loadouts across the set, and the figures are scaled and detailed to combine naturally with Dragon's Vietnam War vehicle kits such as the M48 Patton or Huey helicopter for a complete Khe Sanh diorama.
Ideal for collectors and diorama builders focused on the Marine Corps experience during the Tet Offensive period of the Vietnam War.
