About this kit
MACV-SOG (Military Assistance Command, Vietnam – Studies and Observations Group) was one of the most secretive and highly trained special operations units of the Vietnam War, running deep cross-border reconnaissance, ambush and rescue missions into Laos and Cambodia under a veil of official denial. Composed of hand-picked US Army Special Forces personnel working alongside indigenous Montagnard, Nung and other allied troops, SOG recon teams operated far behind enemy lines armed with irregular, often captured or foreign weapons to disguise their origin.
Dragon's 1/35 figure set captures this shadowy unit with a small team of finely sculpted figures in period-correct tiger-stripe and non-standard uniforms, rendered with the crisp detail and natural poses Dragon's sculptors are known for. Separately moulded webbing, packs, sidearms and long guns let builders mix and match loadouts to represent a specific SOG recon team member.
The kit includes a full sprue of individually moulded weapons and equipment plus clear assembly instructions, giving modellers the parts needed to build an accurate small vignette or add figures to a wider Vietnam War diorama.
A must for collectors of Vietnam-era special forces subjects and anyone building a SOG, Green Beret or MACV diorama scene.
