About this kit
This Dragon 1/35 scale set portrays a British Special Boat Section raiding party of the Second World War, the small, highly trained Combined Operations teams who paddled folding canoes deep behind enemy lines to sabotage shipping and infrastructure in operations reminiscent of the famous Cockleshell Heroes raid on Bordeaux.
Alongside the figures, the set includes a moulded folding kayak, correctly proportioned for the two-man canoe teams these commandos used, letting builders recreate the raiders paddling ashore or preparing their craft for a night operation - a genuinely distinctive subject not covered by many other 1/35 figure ranges.
Dragon has sculpted the commandos in blackened raiding kit with paddles, weapons and equipment as separate parts, supplied on grey styrene sprues with clear assembly instructions for both the figures and the kayak itself.
This set is a natural centrepiece for a Combined Operations or commando-raid diorama and will particularly appeal to modellers looking for an unusual, story-driven WWII vignette beyond the usual armour and infantry subjects.
