Dragon 1/16 Military - Schutz Kampfguppe Hansen 1944 1/16 Figure - D1623

This 1/16 scale figure represents a Schütze (SS private soldier) of Kampfgruppe Hansen, the armoured battlegroup led by SS-Obersturmbannführer Max Hansen that formed part of the 1st SS Panzer Division "Leibstandarte SS Adolf Hitler" during the December 1944 Ardennes Offensive. Advancing alongside the better-known Kampfgruppe Peiper on the northern shoulder of the assault, Hansen's men fought through the Belgian villages around Poteau and Recht before the offensive stalled.

Moulded at generous quarter-scale, the figure gives Dragon's sculptors room to render the winter smock, webbing and personal kit of a rank-and-file SS grenadier with genuine texture and depth, well beyond what a 1/35 crew figure can show. The larger format is popular with figure specialists who want to practise detailed blending and shading on fabric, leather and metal finishes.
