USS Florida (SSGN-728) is one of four Ohio-class ballistic missile submarines converted between 2002 and 2006 into SSGNs under the US Navy's post-START drawdown, trading 22 of her 24 Trident II D5 missile tubes for vertical launch modules carrying up to 154 Tomahawk cruise missiles, with the remaining two tubes converted into lockout chambers and dry deck shelters for special forces deployment.
