The Italeri 1/48 P-47D Thunderbolt ETO (2835) is a 1/48 scale model kit of the Republic P-47D Thunderbolt in European Theatre of Operations configuration — the massive 'Jug' that served as the 8th Air Force's primary long-range escort and ground attack fighter from 1943. The P-47D was the definitive 'bubbletop' Thunderbolt with its tear-drop canopy providing excellent all-round visibility. At over 7 tons it was one of the heaviest single-engine fighters of WWII but its air-cooled radial and eight .50-calibre guns made it formidable.
