The Italeri 1/48 F-86E Sabre (2799) is a 1/48 scale model kit of the North American F-86E Sabre — the swept-wing fighter that became the primary US combat aircraft of the Korean War. The F-86E featured the all-flying tail (slab tailplane) that gave it better controllability at high Mach numbers. Against the MiG-15 over Korea, the Sabre achieved a favourable kill ratio and established US air superiority. Italeri's kit captures the graceful swept-wing shape that defined the jet age aesthetic.
