The Italeri 1/48 S-3A Viking (2623) is a 1/48 scale model kit of the Lockheed S-3A Viking — the carrier-based anti-submarine and utility aircraft that served the US Navy for over 30 years. The Viking replaced the propeller-driven S-2 Tracker and provided the carrier battle group with a jet-powered ASW and surface search capability. In its later S-3B form it also undertook tanking and surface attack roles. The distinctive high-wing, twin-engine design is immediately recognisable.
