The Italeri 1/72 F-35C Lightning II (1469) is a 1/72 scale model kit of the F-35C — the carrier-based variant of the Lightning II developed for the US Navy. The F-35C features a larger wing with folding tips, strengthened undercarriage, and a longer wingspan than the A and B variants, optimised for carrier operations with the electromagnetic launch system (EALS) catapult. The US Navy's F-35C will eventually replace the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet as the primary carrier strike aircraft. An important and distinctive variant of the Lightning II family.
