The Italeri 1/72 Short Stirling Mk.III (1462) is a 1/72 scale model kit of the Short Stirling Mk.III — the RAF's first four-engine 'heavy bomber' of WWII, entering service in 1941. The Stirling had a relatively limited operational ceiling which made it vulnerable to German flak and fighters, and it was progressively replaced by the Lancaster in the strategic bombing role. However, it continued to serve in transport and glider towing roles through to the end of the war. An important but often overlooked British bomber at 1/72 scale.
