The Italeri 1/72 P-38J Lightning (1446) is a 1/72 scale model kit of the Lockheed P-38J Lightning — the twin-boom, twin-engine American fighter-bomber that was one of the most distinctive aircraft of WWII. The P-38J introduced improved intercoolers and dive recovery flaps that addressed issues with earlier variants, making it a more capable fighter. The Lightning served extensively in both the Pacific and European theatres, and is forever associated with the interception of Admiral Yamamoto's aircraft in 1943.
