The Tamiya 1/12 Yamaha YZF-R1 (14073) reproduces the original 1998 YZF-R1 — the superbike that redefined what a litre-class sportsbike could be when it arrived and promptly shattered the lap records at circuits worldwide. The R1's inline-four engine was so compact that it moved the front wheel forward significantly within the chassis, dramatically improving weight distribution and creating the sharp, agile handling that transformed the superbike class.
