The Italeri 1/72 Short Sunderland Mk.III (1352) is a 1/72 scale model kit of the Short Sunderland Mk.III — the RAF's principal long-range maritime patrol flying boat of WWII. The Sunderland proved extremely effective in the Battle of the Atlantic, hunting U-boats and escorting convoys across the North Atlantic. German U-boat crews nicknamed it 'the Flying Porcupine' for its formidable defensive armament of up to 14 machine guns.
