The SH72201 Westland Whirlwind FB Mk.I Fighter-Bomber 1/72 scale model represents the British twin-engine cannon fighter developed to meet the Air Ministry’s pre-WW2 demand for heavily armed fighters.
Produced in limited numbers due to Peregrine engine shortages, these aircraft served over the English Channel in both fighter and ground-attack roles, with the FB Mk.I variant equipped with bomb racks. Replaced by Typhoons in 1944, the Whirlwind remains a distinctive wartime aircraft.
This upgraded edition includes two styrene sprues, clear parts, plus 3D-printed, resin, and etched details. Four decal options reflect both early and later camouflage schemes, revised with new reference data.
