The Trippel SG 6/38 was an amphibious car developed in Germany during the late 1930s by engineer Hans Trippel. Compact and highly versatile, it was designed to operate both on land and in water, offering mobility across rivers and marshy terrain where conventional vehicles would falter. Powered by a rear-mounted engine and featuring a streamlined hull with a screw propeller, the SG 6/38 was one of the first practical amphibious cars adopted for military use. While produced in relatively small numbers compared to the later Volkswagen Schwimmwagen, it nonetheless served with reconnaissance and engineer units, particularly in areas where river crossings and water obstacles were common.

Das Werk’s 1/35 scale kit captures the distinctive shape and engineering of the SG 6/38 with precision. The hull, drivetrain, and suspension are finely detailed, while the interior layout and seating arrangement are faithfully reproduced. The kit includes optional parts to display the vehicle prepared for land or water operation, and photo-etched details further enhance realism. Marking options allow the modeler to finish the vehicle in authentic wartime schemes, making this an excellent choice for anyone interested in rare and unusual vehicles of the Second World War.
