The 1/35 Tamiya - Pz.Kpfw.IV Ausf.G Sd.Kfz. 161/1 (Early Production) is a highly detailed model kit capturing one of Germany’s most important and widely used tanks of WWII. This early production Ausf.G variant was the first Panzer IV to be equipped with the long-barrelled KwK 40 L/43 gun, addressing the growing threat posed by heavily armoured Soviet tanks. Produced between March 1942 and June 1943, these tanks also featured an upgraded mantlet, gun cradle, and additional armour that reflected battlefield adaptations.
This kit builds on Tamiya's well-known precision and ease of assembly, offering:
- Highly accurate 1/35 scale reproduction of the Ausf.G
- Long-barrelled main gun with detailed mantlet
- North African-themed accessories, including jerry cans and sandbags
- Four detailed crew figures: three in rolled-up sleeves (suitable for desert scenes) and one in standard uniform
- Two marking options for vehicles used on the Eastern Front and in North Africa
- Full-colour painting guide and historical background in four languages
Whether you're building a standalone display or incorporating it into a diorama, this kit offers excellent value for both historical interest and modelling quality.
