We’ve had a fresh Airfix delivery, and this one really does have something for everyone. From brand-new toolings to vintage classics and starter sets for modellers of all ages and skill levels, this week’s restock brings depth and variety to the shelves.
Here’s a full breakdown of what’s landed:
Fresh Plastic, Fresh Detail
These kits represent Airfix at its modern best—sharp moulds, improved engineering, and excellent fit. Whether you’re a returning builder or a long-time fan, these offer something extra right out of the box.
1/48 Sepecat Jaguar GR.1/GR.1A – Brand New Release (on-sale Saturday 5th April)
One of the most anticipated new releases of 2024, this kit sees Airfix take on the iconic Sepecat Jaguar with a fresh 1/48 scale tooling. Designed for strike missions, reconnaissance, and ground attack roles, the Jaguar played a key role in Cold War air power.
Airfix’s new kit features:
- Highly detailed cockpit and undercarriage
- Multiple ordnance options
- Optional parts for GR.1 and GR.1A variants
- Crisp recessed panel lines and refined surface detailing
This release is perfect for anyone interested in Cold War and modern British aviation—and stock won’t hang around for long.
1/48 Westland Lysander Mk.I/Mk.III – Recent Release
A slightly earlier addition to the Airfix line-up, the Westland Lysander is a wonderfully quirky aircraft with a fascinating service history. Most famous for its role in covert operations, inserting and extracting SOE agents behind enemy lines during WWII, the Lysander was designed for short take-off and landing (STOL) performance.
This Airfix kit includes:
- Optional markings for Mk.I and Mk.III
- Highly detailed radial engine
- Choice of canopy configurations
- Detailed cockpit and interior framing
It’s a great subject for a diorama or a stand-alone display piece with real historical character.

Also Airfix related - We were proud to recently support the 496 Sqn RAF Air Cadets as they launched their brand-new scale modelling club!
To help them get started, we provided a bundle of Airfix WWII and modern-era aircraft kits, complete with glue, paints, and brushes. We also supplied essential tools like nippers, sanding sticks, and cutting mats from Modelcraft—everything they need to dive into the hobby with confidence.
It’s fantastic to see young people getting hands-on with creative, STEM-based activities like this—and we’re always keen to help where we can.
