Bring history to life with Border Model’s extraordinary 1/35 scale Mitsubishi A6M2 Zero & Akagi Flight Deck set. This premium kit offers an unparalleled building experience, combining an ultra-detailed model of the legendary A6M2 Zero fighter with an expansive section of the IJN Akagi’s flight deck and bridge, all recreated with breath-taking realism.

The A6M2 Zero features a full interior build, including an intricately detailed cockpit, radio systems, and a highly accurate Nakajima Sakae radial engine. Every surface of the aircraft captures realistic stressed skin effects, fine rivet detailing, and precision-moulded panel lines. Builders can pose the cowling open to display the engine, and choose from open or closed canopy options. Full weapon loadouts and optional drop tanks are included to reflect combat-ready configurations.

Complementing the aircraft, the Akagi flight deck diorama base is engineered with the same high level of detail. Authentic wooden planking textures, realistic structural elements, and an expertly crafted bridge section create a vivid snapshot of the carrier during the pivotal Battle of Midway. Clear parts for bridge windows, photo-etched details, and optional LED lighting compatibility (three LR44 batteries required, not included) further elevate this model into a striking display piece.

Additional features include:

  • Highly detailed landing gear and undercarriage options
  • Photo-etched parts for fine details such as seatbelts, access panels, and bridge fittings
  • Decals to replicate historical Akagi-based Zero markings from 1942
  • Optional LED lighting points integrated into the design

At 1/35 scale, the completed diorama creates a commanding display presence, showcasing both the might of the Zero fighter and the strategic significance of the Akagi carrier.

This set is aimed at experienced modelers looking for an ultimate project that combines aircraft and naval modelling into one comprehensive, rewarding build. A centrepiece for any serious World War II or Pacific Theatre collection.

Please note: This is a high-detail kit intended for advanced modelers. Assembly, painting, and optional lighting installation required.
