With its distinctive silhouette reminiscent of science-fiction design, the Alvis Stalwart Mk.2 became legendary for its uncompromising all-terrain and amphibious capability throughout three decades of British Army service. This variant featured an integrated Atlas loader crane, purpose-built to support FV433 Abbott self-propelled gun batteries by transporting and positioning ammunition loads. The crane delivered three-ton lifting capacity at minimum reach, tapering to approximately 1.5 tons at full four-metre extension, a versatile logistics platform that exemplified the Stalwart's reputation as an unstoppable, go-anywhere workhorse across demanding operational environments.
