Canada bought its Leopards to equip armoured units based in West Germany as part of its NATO commitment, and they served alongside allied Leopard 1 fleets during the Cold War. The C1A1 upgrade added improved equipment that kept the tanks effective into the 1990s, when Canadian Leopards also deployed on peacekeeping operations in the Balkans. The family resemblance to the German Leopard 1 is clear, but Canadian fittings and markings set it apart.

Key Features

Over 630 parts across 14 sprues

Slide moulded upper and lower hull and turret

Individual track links

Small photo etched fret

Copper cable for the tow ropes

First released by Hobby Boss in 2019

Paint, glue and modelling tools are sold separately.
